LEARN TO PROTECT YOUR KIDS
FROM PREDATORS
" Closed Eyes "
Who is Killing Our Children?
The murder of Tracy Neef occurred in 1984. To the author’s surprise there is a clear
suspect that had been questioned in 1984, but erroneously categorized as having an alibi. The
author weeds through old case files and discovers how the investigation was hampered with confusion and mistakes
CLOSED EYES EXCERPT
“Most police detectives take it for granted that there are sexually deviate predators in our world. They are familiar with the thought process and actions of these people. But generally the public is shielded from the ugly sometimes gory details of these types of crimes. Folks it’s time to take off the blinders. You will be with the predator, you will be privy to what he is thinking, and you will see what his resulting actions are. Do not be tempted to think that this writing is conjecture. It is a representation of the truth into the pedophile’s mind. It is not a lie. It is real.”

PROTECTUS PROL EXCERPT
CHAPTER III
< "I also believe that once a child molester commits murder whether intentional or not, and gets away with it, he will be inclined to do it again. Remember, child molesters are basically cowards, and will do anything to stay out of prison. They are sociopaths. They have no conscience. Child molesters perceive their victims as objects, much as an adult rapist does. They actually have distain for their victims. They blame their act of sexual assault and molestation on their victim. They will justify thier actions by claiming it was the victim’s fault, even though the victim’s age might have been four or five. In the event the molester is arrested, he will try to convince the police that he would never hurt a child. They are just babies etc. He will present the fact that he has never been arrested. If he has been arrested he will plead that his case was the result of alcohol or drugs. Again, he doesn’t accept responsibility. It’s a tip for girlfriends and wives to be aware of.">
REVIEWS
"My god, all parents with small children should read this book. It's graphic, it gave me a picture of evil that I didn't know existed."

"The way Jim Benish tells it, if local law enforcement agencies don't manage to solve two and possibly three notorious, decades old child murder cases, it won't be because they don't have enough evidence. Benish's book does present a revealing and depressing picture of how scattershot the investigation of even a child's murder can be. Agencies don't share information, don't systematically follow up every lead, fall prey to what Benish terms the tunnel vision of developing one theory."

"I havn't been able to put the book down. I have never read a book like this before. At first it made my stomach turn but after I realized why it was written like that, I could see how this animal was thinking. I want to help put this animal away, my 14 year old daughter lives 3 blocks from David's house, the one in the picture in the book. The Neef family needs closure and so do I. Even the littlest thing that I can do to help will make me feel like I am helping with the closure. I'm sorry to bug you so much, I just want Tracy to rest in peace."

"I am a licensed Professional Counselor working with children and families of deployed service members. In the course of my interactions with these clients, we very often discuss concerns parents express about safety issues surrounding their children. These families have often been relocated to bases far from home and are unfamiliar to their surroundings. By necessity they become dependent on many'strangers'for assistance. In the course of a yearlong deployment many 'strangers' come and go in the lives of these families and the single parent can experience overwhelming feelings of uncertainties about what is happening to them.
"Protectus Prol" has become a valuable resource to me in my practice. I have referred many parents suffering from adjustment issues to this resource to help them identify signs of dangerous people and situations.
The author, Jim Benish, has laid out concrete, in depth areas of concern in which the temporary 'single parent' can focus their attention. I have received feedback from many parents who express relief and confidence in their unique situations after reading this book. The comments I receive from these clientsis that of self-assurance in identifying potential problematic relationships and interactions which have the potential to be devastating to a family of our honored service members.
I recommend this book to everyone in the field of counseling or case management that come in contact with families."

"In my experience it sometimes takes years to solve cases. Unfortunately, the reason is that after the first 24 hours the case starts going cold and for every hour after that the odds of finding the perpetrator gets slimmer and slimmer. Most law enforcement departments are short on man power and unlike TV shows they don't have the time or the manpower to turn over every rock.
There was a case in Florida where I live that took over thirty ears to close and it was the beginning of the killings of Gerard Schaefer. It was solved and closed after he died. There are still victims that we know he killed but didn't point to him and some of their bodies have never been found.
This is one of the reasons among many that I write true crime. It is to give the victims a voice so they can find peace. I am sure it is also one of the many reasons that Jim Benish writes them too".

"Closed Eyes" is the most interesting hands on publication of actual events that I've ever read. To actually understand how the system works (or doesn't) is unbelievable. And to think that there's still a person like that roaming the streets where children are playing. Jim Benish does a fantastic job of getting inside a killers mind. I couldn't put the book down. A must read!"
